Technology

Providing the best internet browsing experience globally, using the world’s leading URL categorization and web filtering technology

CronLab has been working with high-availability solutions for the past 10 years and has now deep expertise in facilitating a productive, safe, and serene internet usage experience. Our technology is specifically tailored to ensure low latency responses, and is resilient (redundancy, failover/backup).

We have multiple geographically spread data centers and availability zones to guarantee a secure and continuous service, supported by 24/7 monitoring by staff monitor.

OS Embedded Filtering

Embedding the filtering in the operating system allows all web requests to be processed, irrespective of which browser is being used.

The system facilitates user transparency and provides a completely safe and controlled internet browsing experience.

Browser-Based Filtering

Browser-based filtering is deployed as a plugin or as a browser-based application. However, the browser should be the only available browser on the device in order to ensure that internet browsing is properly controlled and filtered.

Inappropriate content should not be accessible through another browser. An example of this filtering is public kiosk terminals.

Proxy/Network-Based Filtering

Network-based filtering is set up in an environment where router control is possible. Places where network-based filtering can be implemented include public internet hotspots, restaurants, and cafes. It can also be used in corporate environments and schools.

The transparent proxy inspects network traffic and allows/denies access based on policies and controls. Polices can be based on devices, authentications, and locations, etc. Content deemed inappropriate can be blocked accordingly.

Web Insights/Adtech

Web usage insights are provided in order to help make informed decisions regarding internet usage and for other purposes. Insights are gathered from usage statistics such as proxy logs and network logs and uploaded to the CronLab cloud service.

An anonymous statistics database is generated which is then used to analyse trends and search for information.

This information is used to strengthen control as well as to optimise advertising strategies and marketing initiatives. Web insights can also used to analyse bandwidth usage and better understand user behaviour. Accordingly, you are able to make better decisions for future usage and to develop improved business strategies .
